The aroma features vibrant cherry, raspberry, and red fruit, complemented by a touch of baking spices. On the palate, you’ll discover flavors of pomegranate, black cherry, and plum, enhanced by a sweetness from the oak. The delightful cola finish is characteristic of Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley.
The 2023 Vintage
2023 started with record rainfall and a very cool winter which signifiganty delayed bud break and bloom for the vines. This lead to extended fruit hang time allowing for wonderful texture and fruit ripeness. As a result, harvest was signifigantly later than usual but the quality of the fruit was worth the wait.
Martinelli Laughlin Road Vineyard
This vineyard is located in the eastern section of the Russian River Valley, where the fog’s impact is remarkable. Nestled near the Russian River, the fog cools this area nearly every summer night, allowing for excellent hang time and phenolic maturity. The vineyard features a blend of two Pinot Noir clones: Pommard 5 and Calera.
