Our Appellation Series wines honor varietals grown from beautiful appellations in and around Sonoma County. This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Red Hills appellation, which lies along the southwestern shores of Clear Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in California. Designated Lake County's newest AVA in September 2004, Red Hills sits at the foot of the ancient volcano Mount Konocti and extends from Big Valley on the west to Excelsior Valley on the east.
We love this wine for its big cherry and plum aroma on the nose with concentrated and nuanced dark berry and black currant on the palate, making this a soft yet full-bodied wine with firm ripe tannins and a sweet oak flavor. It has lovely acidity making this an age-worthy wine you can enjoy now or cellar for up to 5 years.
